SUSTAINABILITY

Our vision

For over a century, Liquorificio Morelli has been driven by a passion that brings together tradition, territory, and quality. But we also believe that the future requires environmental responsibility: this is why we have integrated an active sustainability model into our company.

Liquorificio Morelli

CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Our journey toward sustainability begins with enhancing and reusing production waste. The lemon and orange peels used for alcoholic infusions are recovered and transformed into new products: they become ingredients for Food line desserts, such as panettoni, pandolci, and cantuccini, or raw materials for the Anyma line, our range of natural cosmetics.
In this way, every resource is reused within a virtuous cycle that reduces waste and generates added value. Even the packaging follows the same philosophy: for several lines we use recycled glass and sustainable materials, reducing the overall environmental impact.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Our commitment to the environment also extends to the energy we use. Liquorificio Morelli has invested in the installation of photovoltaic systems that provide a large part of the company’s energy needs, helping reduce CO₂ emissions.
Thanks to these improvements, over 27,000 kg of CO₂ are saved every year — the equivalent of about 1,850 trees. It is a milestone that brings us ever closer to a production model with near-zero impact.

WASTE REDUCTION AND RESPONSIBLE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

The selection of raw materials follows criteria of quality, traceability, and seasonality. We favor local suppliers and short supply chains, reducing transportation and supporting the local economy. Every stage of the production process is optimized to minimize consumption and waste: from the maceration of raw materials to distillation, all the way to bottling and packaging.

TERRITORY AND COMMUNITY

The bond with Valdera and Tuscany is an integral part of our way of doing business. For us, sustainability is not only about the environment, but also about people.
We invest in the well-being of our employees and promote a growth model that respects the territory, enhances artisanal work, and contributes to the development of the local community.

BUT WE DON’T STOP HERE

  • Continue increasing the share of self-produced or renewable energy so that the company can become fully zero-impact.
  • Expand circular supply chains: further develop products derived from production waste, enhancing both the cosmetic and food lines.
  • Increase transparency toward customers by communicating even more clearly how every bottle embodies not only flavor but also environmental and social commitment.
  • Collaborate with other local and artisanal excellences to give new life to production waste within a shared and sustainable supply-chain model.
